Occupied with appointments this AM, I did not get to Ft Frederick until nearly 3:30 pm, as light was fading. But  the bunting was still right at the spot described below. We watched each other motionless for ~ 2 seconds, then it must have decided there was something about me it didn't like, and flew off, over the river into WV.

The Snow Bunting found by David Moulton is continuing at Fort Frederick State Park in Washington County MD near Big Pool.  The bird was foraging on the "authorized users only" gravel road that begin at the far south end of the Ft Frederick Visitors Center parking lot.  If you walk up the road 15 yards it splits.  The bunting was feeding in the gravel of the right hand split.
