This morning there was a Green Heron sunning itself on the edge of the open
pond near the canoe launch. I watched it for a little while and as the sun
continued to warm it, the bird became more active, twice stretching its
neck out and once flying across the pond to a taller tree. This is more
than three weeks later than my previous late date.
