When I left work this evening, there was a lovely Hermit Thrush waiting
for me outside of the office (in Laurel), foraging just several feet
from my car. That was a nice way to start the weekend!

As for recent yard birds, in southern Frederick county, our Dark-eyed
Juncos and White-throated Sparrows returned in the past couple of weeks,
and we still have an occasional Chipping Sparrow and Field Sparrow. A
Ruby-crowned KInglet also visited our suet several days ago, and he
flashed his lovely red crown because he was irritated with one of our
White-breasted Nuthatches.
