Maryland Birders - Here is a report from the lovely morning of birding that
the Talbot Bird Club had at CBEC, under the able leadership of Danny Poet.
Seven birders joined him, and many good birds, especially the several duck
species, gave nice viewing. The Snowy Egret was probably the most unusual
bird for this time of year, and it was clearly seen by all of the group.
After most of the people had left, Danny and three others visited the cove
near the CBEC entrance to view a large raft of ducks that had been seen from
a distance earlier. The raft was dominated by 5000 or more Ruddy Ducks, and
included a few Canvasbacks, a few Lesser Scaup, a few Buffleheads and a
female Hooded Merganser.
