To complement the sightings from the Tanyard Marsh - on our way to OC on Fri afternoon, we stopped on the far (CN Co) side of the 331 bridge, where we saw

Can Goose - 150
Mallard - 3
Gr-w Teal - 7
AM COOT - 16
Black -b Plover -1
Killdeer - 5
W Snipe - 1
R-b Gull - 6
B'parte's Gull - 3-4
BLACK SKIMMER 3-4

Having no i-phone, we could not report these until our return on Sunday, by which time others had posted from the same site by then, not finding the Skimmers. What a difference 2 days can make; tho' notice the similarities also.

Jim,
The state record for Great Cormorant is 27 on Dec. 31, 2000 for the
Annapolis CBC (multiple observations) and the highest single count is 26 at
Point Lookout on Jan. 23, 1984. Most reports of Great Cormorants do not
give the age of the birds but the highest number of adults reported in fall
is two. Not to have any immatures or sub-adults in a flock that size is
astounding.
