Chris, you're right that winter weather will eventually attract more
birds to our feeders. However, usually in late summer the goldfinches
bring their young'uns to drink from our little pond, or I see the birds
feeding on weed seeds in the unmowed area adjacent to our property, and
this year they were noticeably absent.
