Hi all,

Over the past week, I've put together a nifty excel macro that I'm happy to share with everybody. Basically, it identifies missing species on your county lists. Big deal, right? Well, the cool part comes in that I've also incorporated the ebird checklist frequency data (bar-chart data) so that the macro identifies the most commonly observed species (by month) that are missing on your list. If you want to check it out, here is the link

This will be most useful for county listers who already have their lists in excel and use the widespread 0/1 format. I've tried to make it fairly user-friendly, but if you have trouble, feel free to email me. Also, I'm still expecting to find some errors in the code, so if you come across something wacky, let me know about that as well. Big thanks to Mike Ostrowski for some tips and for testing it out.

I've also updated the 'ebird GPS files' since the last time I posted about these. The file is current as of Sep 2011 and now contains over 1000 maryland hotspots. It's not terribly difficult to add these files to standard garmin and tomtom GPS units.

Hope someone finds it useful,
