Jay Sheppard is the compiler for the Ocean City Christmas Bird Count to be held this year on Wednesday, Dec 28th. He sent out a message with all the details earlier today. If you did not receive a message it might be because your email address changed, or maybe because you've never participated in the count.

Here are some enticing statistics from Jay: "For the past dozen+ years we have averaged about 150-151 species per count, plus a few seen during the count week. This is always the highest count in Maryland....AND the highest count for this or any higher latitude in the US and Canada!!  In 2007, we found 163 species, which tied our previous highest species total. Our cumulative list now stands at over 240 species."

Jay has made arrangements with two hotels for blocks of rooms at $54/night.
