I looked out my back window a few minutes ago and noticed a very large
Red-shouldered Hawk standing on a muddy patch of lawn. She kept picking
at the ground, moving to another nearby spot, and picking up something
else. I saw this repeated maybe five times before the bird flew away.
Presumably she was gobbling insects or other invertebrates...? Not a
very exciting breakfast, but easy to catch.
