I loaded some photos up from the pouring rain of the Brown Pelicans en masse.

In the photos I took it is tough to tell the sheer volume. Bradley took a photo with a P-n-S at wide angle. We were able to count 82 BRPEs in the photo. This didn't include the birds that were resting on a distant dock, nor did it include the good number of birds afloat.

The high-count of Brown Pelican in MD for the winter season (dec through feb) in MD is 60 birds (eBird data). That number was double the second-highest total (30).

This was quite spectacular to witness!
