Re: Lark Sparrow (A.I.) -RFI

After participating in the OC CBC yesterday Gayle and I  took the opportunity to finally go after the Lark Sparrow at Assateague SP.   We arrived as Jay and Marcy were leaving, and took the same path that leads to the south as described in an earlier post by Marcy.   We heard that a rangers truck had flushed the sparrow, and after some searching we eventually found it.  It was perched up in a holly that is right along the bike path and just to the south of pumphouse # 2.  Eventually, it flew about 200' toward the beach and started feeding on the ground.  We left it to enjoy its lunch.

The midday sun isn't the best time to try for pictures but still managed to get an acceptable digiscoped shot:
