I walked the C&O from Violettes to marker 25. It was a good morning for diversity.
Highlights:
7 woodpecker species including red-headed
2 common ravens seen and heard repeatedly over 2 hours
singing winter wrens near Riley’s Lock
horned grebe working slowly upstream @ mile 24
7 American wigeons
mute swan @ mile 24
3 hooded mergansers
buffleheads

plus a tail slapping beaver and one muskrat
