Mark McDermot and I saw the PA snowy owl brilliantly reflecting full sun on the fence post directly east (but below a rise) from the parking area (north of the intersection previously provided) at 9:00 am today. At 11:00 am witnessed the owl's dust-up with the ravens that ended with it taking off and landing in the same field slightly further north. We spoke with the farmer who owns the land just north of the parking area and he was welcoming of bird and birder visitors.

Finished the trip by seeing the L. Shrike in Hagerstown against a darkening sky around 2:30 pm in the location below.

> Since the Barnacle Goose was a no-show Friday and Saturday, I decided to cancel my plans to chase that bird and went instead to look for the Loggerhead Shrike in Hagerstown. That, of course, ensured that the goose would show up today and be seen by many. Sigh.
