Oxbow Lake, Anne Arundel, US-MD
Jan 17, 2012 2:15 PM - 4:00 PM
Protocol: Traveling
0.5 mile(s)

Conditions: 52°F, Clear, Wind: S at 12 mph, with gusts up to 30 mph, Humidity: 63% with gusts up to 30 mph. Jay Sheppard and I visited the Oxbow this afternoon stopping first at Big Pool Bluff (the wind gusts were extremely strong) and then moving over to the Southeast Observation Point where the wind was hardly felt. Good looks at the continuing out-of-season male Blue-winged Teal. One mature Bald Eagle was down on the lake standing on a fallen snag and eventually got all the ducks and gulls up and flying, which made picking out the 2 Pintail Duck easier.
