The highlight of my lunchtime gull count at Schoolhouse Pond today was an adult Bonaparte's Gull.  Also present were decent numbers of both Ring-billed and Herring Gulls.  Total numbers included 514 Ring-billed Gulls, 26 Herring Gulls, and 1 Bonaparte's Gull.  Gulls were still flying in as I left.

Other birds present included 7 Wilson's Snipe, 11 Gadwall, and 10 Northern Shovelers.  Present this morning were 4 Hooded Mergansers and 3 American Wigeon as well.  Also this morning, two adult Bald Eagles flew slowly at about tree-top level over the pond, giving impressive views in the early morning sunlight.
