Hi All Happy New year The Talbot County Bird Club began its 2012 season with the annual visit to the farm fields near Ridgely Maryland in Caroilne County to look for the field birds special to this kind of Habitat . This trip is not for the casual birder we were greeted by a stiff COLD BREEZE , snow flurries . 5 die hards and a sixth person joined us for a while . Leader was Danny Poet we managed 50 Species. We made a brief stop at and near Coveys landing in Talbot County . And Afterwards we enjoyed a very good brunch in the warm home of Karen and Bill Harris near Easton . Thanks Karen and Bill . Also tallied some of her great feeder birds including a Swamp Sparrow under her feeders. As a way to keep track T means seen in Talbot County / C means Caroline some birds were in both counties . Bird list below numbers are rough estimates .

Afterwards Dave Palmer and Danny Poet went to the town of Choptank in Caroline County but near the Dorchester County border to look for a recently reported Glaucous Gull we had no luck with finding it . However we did get a great look at one adult Lesser Black - backed Gull . A new Caroline County bird for me .
