Not sure how uncommon BARRED OWL is in DC.  On 2/3 at 5:15 PM and 2/6 at 5:35 PM there was a BARRED OWL calling on the Theodore Roosevelt Island.  Breeding there?  
Very sure that a group of 5 White-tailed Deer I see regularly on the island are too many.  Bye bye understory.
