While I was waiting at the stoplight at the
intersection of Metzerott Road and Rte. 193 at about
7:40 this morning, a peregrine flew across the road
about 20 feet ahead of my car. It was flying below
treetop height (maybe 25 feet off the ground) and
moving toward the little community park that is
across the road from the Paint Branch golf course.
As it flew over the park, just skimming the trees,
it was joined by a second bird moving in from the
College Park campus. The traffic light went
green at that point and I didn't see where the birds
went.
