The Virginia's Warbler at Pickering Creek became quite active today around mid-day.  I arrived at about 11:40 A.M, and there were about a dozen birders looking for the warbler. Within about 10 minutes, the bird starting chipping actively and flitting around the scrubby field on the N-NW side (right side heading from the parking lot) of the trail.  Fleeting looks were had by all for about 15 minutes, then a couple from Pittsburgh had a clear look at the white eye ring.  At about 12:15, I had what was probably the most clear view of anyone in the group, as the Virginia's lighted in the large bramble [Or were they Gambel's Oaks in winter? - can't help but fantasize] to the right of the trail about midway out, only about 20 feet away.  The bird rotated in nearly full view, giving me great looks at all the field marks.
At about 12:40, a nice couple from Baltimore by the name of Dante and I think Heidi [sorry if I got that wrong], relatively new to birding, were able to get a good clear shot of the bird over by the Observation Deck.  They will likely be posting their photo on eBird and I am putting them in touch with the records committee.  They were in the right place at the right time, as by this time the bird had wandered around the field, and the main group had started to disperse.

All in all a great, very lucky day for me, and added several Talbot County birds to my Cty list, including a singing BARRED OWL, and several waterfowl species.
