It was fairly birdy on the Mall today. Here are some highlights of my lunch-time walk around the Lincoln Memorial area:

Constitution Gardens:
A male Redhead in the pond
An American Coot in the pond (the first coot I've seen on the Mall this year!)
   Several Ring-necked ducks
Flocks of starlings, American robins, Common grackles and a few Red-winged Blackbirds
The usual Canada geese, mallards, Ring-billed gulls

DC Veteran's Memorial
   A flock of juncos
   Both kinglets

A young Bald Eagle soaring over the memorial (looking pretty much like a second-year bird, coloration-wise)
