I've had a few interesting sightings in Patterson Park recently. The bird walk was Saturday and I've been back twice since then. The Am. Black Duck and one Black DuckxMallard Hybrid linger on the lake, the others have left. Six Canada Geese, four Am. Widgeons (3 male and a female), two Am. Coots and a Pied-billed Grebe are also present. A Cooper's Hawk, Merlin and juvenile Red-tailed Hawk have been making regular appearances in and around the park. On Sunday I also had three Phoebes a Song Sparrow and a Swamp Sparrow. Yesterday there were no Phoebes, but there was a Fox Sparrow, a White-throated Sparrow, three Song Sparrows, a Swamp Sparrow two Northern Flickers and four Yellow-bellied Sapsuckers in a flock around the community gardens.

Good Birding!
