At 5:30 AM, I heard a very loud chorus of frogs in the pond just beyond my
front door. I walked out to investigate...

A bit further down the driveway, I heard a faint "peent". "My woodcock"
have finally arrived: a sure sign of spring!

Total American Woodcock heard and seen 5-6 (5:30-6:00 AM between house and
mid-drive).
Near ideal conditions must be present today, for AM woodcock displays are
unusual here.

Also heard: 1 Northern Cardinal, 1 Song Sparrow, 1 Carolina Wren and 3
Eastern Towhee.

Time to feed the bluebirds: they know I'm up now!
