Tim Guida and I took a quick trip down to Hains Point for lunch and
found a pair of Mallards with two very young fledglings in the Potomac
by Tidal Basin. This hen must have started nesting in early Feb!
We also had a Red-breasted Merg in Tidal Basin, and a Greater Scaup in
a flock of Lesser on the Western Shore of Hains Point by the railroad
bridge, also Horned Grebe in the same spot.
