I birded the Antietam National Battlefield this morning with former
Superintendent John Howard to prepare for a tour I'm giving for the
Washington County Bird Club and Potomac Valley Audubon Society in May.
It's a beautiful park they've got up there, and it was great to see some
early migrants back in place.  Highlights included:

   - single Tree Swallow on power lines near the Dunker Church
   - at least eight Eastern Meadowlarks (seen at the Cornfield and Bloody
   Lane, and heard-only at various other stops)
   - Eastern Phoebe at Burnside Bridge
   - American Kestrel and Red-shouldered Hawk at the Cornfield
   - Eastern Bluebirds all over the place
   - 21 other, expected species
