Hi all,
A warm but bit foggy morning at 8:30 AM; not as much activity as hoped. However with perseverance some nice birds were seen. A good number of FOX SPARROWS linger, many were singing today. PHOEBES are calling at the various ponds in the park and in Brookside Gardens. No sign of other early migrants however, for example, the Tree Swallows are not back yet at Pine Lake. A single HERMIT THRUSH in the Gardens. Far fewer Song Sparrows but still good numbers of both Fox and White-throats and FOS Chipping Sparrow seen. Three immature Red-shouldered Hawks were flying together, calling loudly, and then all perching together over the Brookside Garden greenhouses, much to the interest of the many (flower) photographers there. From size, appeared to be two males and a large female.
