I and a couple from Harrisburg (the man's name was Joe Carpenter) viewed the Le Conte's Sparrow from approximately 2:48 until 2:56 pm in the previously described scrubby/wet margin to the field. I thought that I heard the bird's high chip note a time or two, and then Joe saw the bird perched in one of the small trees in the shrubby area. We viewed the bird in the open for 30 seconds or so, and then followed the bird as it made its way through the low grass to the right. We got additional views periodically as the bird moved from one clump of grass to another. I even got a few documentable photos of the bird. We last viewed the Le Conte's as it flushed from a clump of grass and flew into the taller grass of the adjacent field. Thank you to those who posted information about the bird, particularly the highlighted map from yesterday that showed right where to look for the bird.
