I birded 4 spots yesterday. Starting with Mount Pleasant where it was completely fogged in and the sparrows were singing beautifully. Fox continue along with impressive numbers of fields. Henryton was fairly quiet but the Phoebes had moved in along the river and some Wood Ducks flushed. My first Toothwort blooming there also. The afternoon turned sunny so I headed to Hugg Thomas and had 2 BARRED OWLS calling. More Phoebes there also with Bloodroot and Corydalis blooming. I ended at West Friendship where I found a Wilson’s Snipe and 2 Killdeer. A nice half dozen Swamp Sparrows.....and this monster http://flic.kr/p/bE5ZC2 Red-Backed salamanders everywhere!
