Wow. I walked by my shop this morning and noticed that one of my lilac bushes is just starting to bloom. Now THAT is early! Wondering if and how all the early blooming trees and shrubs will effect the insect hatch, and the warblers, vireos, etc. that feed on them?

Mockingbirds are singing in the Foggy Bottom neighborhood, but only
ccasionally, and

After a season devoid of Mockingbird song last year, we are happy to
welcome a new Northern Mockingbird to our neighborhood. It hasn't done
much in the way of singing so far, other than random snatches of
Killdeer. We are hopeful for a more varied repertoire in the weeks to
come. Actually, last Sunday at Cromwell Valley, the Mockingbirds there
 were not singing either.

We had our first Mourning Cloak on Sat & Cromwell Valley Park had a nice
sprinkling of Spring Azures on Sunday.
