Hi all,

I took a morning hike along Rock Creek, hoping something would pop up from the 5a.m. thunderstorm. The creek was kind of high.  Had 4 Brown Creepers, and a Yellow-bellied Sapsucker.  On my way back, I heard the emphatic 'tick' of a Louisiana Waterthrush (wasn't singing). After a few minutes it quieted down. A pair of Wood Ducks were swimming in the slightly flooded gulley off the bike path.

Other species noted:

Pileated Woodpecker  1
Red-bellied Woodpecker
Downy Woodpecker
White brsted Nuthatch
Carolina Chickadee

Golden crowned Kinglets

American Goldfinches
American Robins
Red winged Blackbirds
