A sad way to start the day. I arrived at SERC in Edgewater and booted up my computer. There was an email that popped up as I was scanning through my work emails. My friend Liza had a bird that apparently had run into a window or wall near her office and was  under a truck but she couldn't ID it. I went over and found a Virginia Rail panting under the truck. I was able to reach under and pull it out. It's attentive but I'm not optimistic about it recovering from the crash. Anyway, it's in a box in my office now. I'm hoping for a release later but if not, it'll go to the Natural History Museum next week :(
