Howdy!

This evening, I walked the one mile loop straight away off of Igloo Road at the Edgewood Area of Aberdeen Proving Ground, in Harford County. There is a very large log pile here where the post piles sticks, logs, bushes, etc. (mostly large tree trunks). Among the usual suspects (White-throated Sparrows, Song Sparrows, Towhee, Cardinal, Mockingbird, Bluebird, Robin, etc) weaving around the pile looking for insects I found a Winter Wren.

My attention was drawn to him first when I heard a half-hearted attempt at singing. I love the Winter Wrens song, so unusual to hear it MD, though -even if it was atypically quiet and, as I mentioned, rather half-hearted.

Anyway, that's it...

Good birding
and
Happy Spring!
