I remember that house well from my early Nature Conservancy days when they conducted field trips to Finzel and other area places of interest. We would meet at the house. As I recall, it remained in place some years after its use before being taken down.

Nancy, actually, the Mapquest line is the more Westerly line (even more westerly than Ed's), with most of the swamp in Allegany Co. Ed, thanks for going to the horse's mouth on this issue. As one might assume, our taxes did not go to the wrong county. When I posted my ealier comments, I forgot that the house at the current parking lot has been removed as well. The "former house at the end of the road" that we used to own was actually on the other side of the swamp, just up the hill from where the small kiosk is by the gate, well into Allegany County by the map you got. You can still see the 574 on the gatepost, our former address. Or at least it was still there last June.

It seems as though MapQuest uses/shows the more easterly border between Garrett and Allegany counties. Looks as though that line is between the first two wooden bridges.
