Howdy,
Logan Bryant, Kevin Oxenrider, Ryan Steiner and I took a leisurely stroll between lock 172 and mile marker 175 on the C&O Canal at North Branch in Allegany County just east of Cumberland this afternoon. Highlights included three LOUISIANA WATERTHRUSHES and eight RUSTY BLACKBIRDS.

Louisiana Waterthrush 3 Two seen well, and a third calling further down the canal. Actively bobbing their tails, the two we watched hopped up from the low, stagnant water in the canal to well-lit tree branches above the C&O trail.
