This pales in comparison to Mike's sighting, but this afternoon there were
six Horned Grebes on Centennial Lake in Howard County, and probably a
little closer than on the Potomac. Likewise, they ranged in plumages from
basic to near full alternate, but too distant for decent photos, at least
with my rig.

A new early records Cliff Swallow as spotted by Russ, but I couldnąt get
on it.

Two Ruddies, one male in full alternate, another not so showy male, one
Ring-necked, one Pied-billed Grebe three American Coots round out the
waterfowl.

A spectacular Great Egret in full regalia continues to grace the west end.

Notable songbirds, all in a little pocket behind the concession stand were
two Eastern Phoebes, two Golden-crowned Kinglet, and one Eastern Palm
Warbler.

And an Osprey flew over.
