This morning at least 4 Louisiana Waterthrushes were singing along the C&O in Montgomery County, 1 at the entrance to Pennyfield, 1 at the bridge at Riley's, and two more in between. A Yellow-throated Warbler made a brief appearance at Riley's around 8 am. A Pine Warbler was up and singing upstream from Violette's. (Also singing: Ruby-crowned Kinglet.)

A female Common Merganser was shepherding 5 young into the Potomac just upstream from Violette's.
