I headed to Bombay Hook in Delaware this morning and decided to take a run
up the road to Taylor's Gut before going down the Bombay Hook entrance road.
Along the way to Taylor's Gut I found seven Kestrels sitting on the wires
... no big deal ... except these were all sitting within a space of about 20
yards. As I very slowly drove by,
they took flight and flew around. Amazing to see that many Kestrels
together in the Spring.
Bombay Hook had several thousand Dunlin, hundreds of Green Winged Teal,
Coots and Shovelers, many Lesser and Greater Yellowlegs, several
Black-bellied Plovers plus the usual
smattering of other ducks. Bear Swamp only had about 17 Black Crowned Night
Herons.
