Matt,
"My" Marsh Wrens have been doing the half-hearted song for about 2 weeks now.  They definitely winter here and I hear them chattering about once or twice a month most winters.  I wondered if the ridiculous weather would get them singing early and sure enough.  However, I wasn't expecting (nor have I ever heard before) the half-hearted song.

Danny

Kim and I took the dog for a walk at Swan Harbor last evening.  The highlight was a minimum of 3 American Bitterns in full "song".  I was able to record one with my iPhone and hopefully I'll figure out the easiest way to share those soon.

If you've never heard an American Bittern pumping before, I encourage you to go listen for yourself.  It's an amazing sound.
