Maryland Birders -
The final record of seeing or hearing the Pickering Creek Virginia's
Warbler seems to be that of John O'Brien described below. John's
observations occurred on Sunday, March 25th.

If anyone has seen or heard this bird more recently than March 25th,
please let me know. If I receive no responses, we will declare March 25th
as the final day of the visit. The first confirmation of the bird's identity
occurred on Feb 15th, so it has certainly been a nice long visit. Perhaps
the bird is still on the grounds of Pickering Creek. If not, we hope it is
still in good health, where ever it is. Sure was fun to have it in our
midst.

John went to Pickering Creek this morning and heard the likely chip-notes of
the Virginia's Warbler at least three times between 7:30 and 8:30 but had no
further contact up until noon. The bird stayed low close to the entrance
road, and once was near the prairie interpretive sign, but never showed
itself except for a flight to a tree where it disappeared. There was also
an astounding raft of 32,000 Ruddy Ducks at Cabin Creek in Queen Anne's Co.
and Gannets there and at Horsehead.
