Hello all.

Here are the highlights from this morning's trip to Kembo Road and Swan Creek. At Kembo, a SORA called, and at Swan, I found my FOY Common Yellowthroat, a Pileated Woodpecker and a few other good migrants. Kembo Road is the street that leads into the complex that houses the Swan Creek wetlands and Cox Creek dredge facility.

Kembo Road: (road margins and flooded areas):

Wood Duck: 2 not as easy to get here in recent years
Little Blue Heron: 2 adult, roosting in snags
SORA: 1 called as I was observing the heron, was a bit of a suprise.

Swan Creek: 

Northern Shoveler: 2, north cell
Northern Pintail: 1, old wetland
Pied-billed Grebe: 1, old wetland
Little Blue Heron: 2, old wetland
Virginia Rail: 1, mitigated wetland
American Coot: 2, old wetland
Sapsucker: 1, near the power line cut
PILEATED WOODPECKER: 1 male, unusual for the property. It was working the area nearest the facility entrance
Winter Wren: 1, off of the trail to the wetlands
Brown Thrasher: 1, in flight over the wetlands, not often seen so exposed
COMMON YELLOWTHROAT: 1 male, off of the right side of the wetland trail
Pine Warbler: 1
Myrtle Warbler: 1 
American Goldfinch: 23, several groups/singles flying over
