Hi all,

I spent the day birding in Saint Mary's County in the vicinity of Point
Lookout. Highlights from Point Lookout State park included an extremely
cooperative singing LEAST BITTERN heard in the phrag pond (most easily from
the southern end of the picnic area parking lot), 3 SORA, 1 VIRGINA RAIL, 2
WHITE-EYED VIREOs, impressive numbers of BLUE-GRAY GNATCATCHERS, and 2
HOUSE WRENs. At the Jacob's Farm area of the park, I located a single
PRAIRIE WARBLER in a mixed flock that was singing an incredibly fast paced
version of it's normal tune. A lowlight of the day was finding an injured
Bald Eagle along Longneck Road, the rehabber thinks it may have a broken
wrist, the bird is in good health otherwise and it looked like a recent
injury so hopefully all will be well.

Also yesterday, I spotted two COMMON RAVENs in Prince George's and Anne
Arundel Counties (they crossed the Patuxent River) at Patuxent Wildlife
Research Center, the area is closed to the public, but I am sure they were
visible from the North Tract, these are presumably the same birds that have
been seen in the immediate vicinity.
