Actually several of us were at Riley's Lock scanning the river at the "right time" but whether due to glare looking downstream, or just plain bad birding luck, failed to see the Franklin's although it should have been visible from there. We did walk up to where a large number of Bonies were floating around (just downstream of the island) but again, no luck.

Maybe it will be back but not hopeful -- dang, new county bird!

Phil,
Nancy Magnusson, Peter Kaestner, and I saw the Franklin's Gull from 7:00 am
- 8:35 am. It drifted north to Riley's Lock and joined a couple hundred
Boanparte's Gulls. No other birders were seen until about 5 arrived after
9:00. We did not relocate it but the Bonaparte's Gulls had split up moving
north of Riley's and south towards Pennyfield.
