Nothing too unusual at Schoolhouse Pond this morning, although there was a tremendous number of flyover gulls today. Mid-April to early May always has large numbers of gulls flying over the pond heading towards the landfill, most of which are very vocal Laughing Gulls. Today's totals included 1,021 Laughing Gulls, 62 Ring-billed Gulls, and 36 Herring Gulls. It is very impressive to watch the birds stream continuously overhead, and I never get tired of the incessant calls of the Laughing Gulls. No photos were taken. The light was great this morning, so if some rarer gulls had been mixed in, they would have been relatively easy to pick out. Recent arrivals (yesterday or today) include Northern Parula, House Wren, and Common Yellowthroat. Good birding,
