Yesterday, a walk at Antietam Battlefield yielded a couple of first of the season species.

On the fence posts bordering the fields were at least two Grasshopper Sparrows, one which was doing the warble song.

Along the creek on the Snavely Ford Trail was a Northern Parula and a Scarlet Tanager.
