Wood Ducklings in Edgewater

While doing stream monitoring today, there were more Wood Ducks than usual at the Beaver Pond here at SERC. There was a pair in a dead tree overhead squeaking at me to leave and another pair that flushed when I got to the pond edge and across the pond, near the Wood Duck box, was a hen with 8 ducklings.

Otherwise, pretty quite around the woods. Hardly even any Ovenbirds singing. I'm hoping that after this low moves off and the winds switch around from the SW that the floodgates will open.
