The Henslow's Sparrows were still singing this morning, but did not show themselves in the brief time that Kye Jenkins and I were out there.

A note about access this coming week: I'm headed to Texas tonight and will be gone until late Thursday night, so I will be unavailable to take people out into the field.

Everyone is still welcome to come and listen from our driveway at any time. They were loudly singing last night at 11:30pm when we came home and we could hear them from our porch this morning at 9:30am. When we asked the landowners for permission to walk into their field, I told them that only Kim and I would personally take people out in the field, so please do NOT trespass. I do not want to jeopardize our relationship, in hopes that we can work with them to manage this field for the sparrows.

If Kim is home and has time, she will come out and take people over to the field to try and see the birds. She will probably be home in the evenings, but her work schedule is unpredictable, so please don't plan on this.

If you will be satisfied with only hearing the birds, I would recommend an evening/night visit. I find the night singing to be especially fascinating!

Again, please call, text, or email to get the address and let us know that you are coming.

Good luck!
