I listened to the Virginia Rail vocalize virtually non-stop near the observation platform this morning from 7:14 until 7:54.  Unlike yesterday, I never got a look at the bird today.  It moved in a somewhat circular pattern around the edge of the platform, at times coming within several feet of where I stood, but the rail never came into the open or even stirred the vegetation, at least that I saw.  Fred Fallon is at the observation platform now, hoping to get pictures.

Flyover gulls consisted of 341 Laughing Gulls, 37 Herring Gulls, and 36 Ring-billed Gulls.
