Thought I’d share a series of pictures of a road killed Lincoln’s sparrow for observation/study. This was a bird I picked up last fall.

Time to start looking for Lincoln’s. I find them in different habitats in the springtime as migrants (at least here in Howard) than in the fall. I find them most often in thickets (especially multifora) along streams in the woods. (Middle Patuxent, Rockburn are good places) Also field edges in the thickets usually by second growth or mature woods. Different from their fall weedy fields and more open field edge habitats.
