For someone who birds there regularly: Why is there a trail up above and behind the kiln where at least a couple of times in the past a connecticut warbler has been seen? Is it permanent? Why was it made in the first place? It's the width of a golf cart. I'm also curious to know how often spotted sandpiper is seen in the creek.

The spotted was my favorite bird this morning, maybe b/c I don't recall seeing one there before. It's really something how the orioles, especially the baltimores, have taken over the park. And warbling vireos are competing with them. Some birds:

Spotted Sandpiper (1)
Scarlet Tanager (3)
Eastern Kingbird (3)
Warbling Vireo (thinly widespread)
Both Orioles--tons of Balts
Common Yellowthroat (widespread)
Parula (thinly spread)
Yellow (5+)
Black-and-White (2-3)
Yellow-Rumped (quite a few)
