Hi all,

After we finished moving in to a new place in Ocean Pines yesterday
evening, Betsy and I birded Skimmer Island then we went down to Assateague
Island for sunset.

Highlights for Skimmer Island included 44 Common Terns, 63 Royal Terns, 3
Black Skimmers, and all expected herons and egrets.

Assateague Island had American Woodcocks calling from several locations,
with most in the Bayside Campground area. Unfortunately, they were not
displaying. Chuck-will's-widows started calling around dusk. There were 5
or 6 calling from Bayside Campground down the the OSV entrance. Very
cool. I'm glad to have them back!

Cheers and Good Birding,

PS While moving in, we had Pine Warblers, a Great-crested Flycatcher,
Chimney Swifts, and a few hawks/vultures that seemed to be migrating
overhead. Squirrels were the only feeder visitors. There is also plenty
of room in the flowerbeds for Salvias!
