Hi all,

I birded Point Lookout and vicinity on Sunday 29 April. I started off with
a calling SEDGE WREN at Cornfield Harbor at dawn, Point Lookout SP
highlights included 6 SORAs calling simultaneously from the phrag pond, a
BLACK-CROWNED NIGHT-HERON that flushed from the picnic area, one EASTERN
and two WESTERN WILLETs on the rock jetty at the point, a flyby DOWITCHER
sp., a roosting female EASTERN WHIP-POOR-WILL near the fort, a BLUE-HEADED
VIREO, nice warbler diversity including a singing BLACKBURNIAN WARBLER, and
just all around good numbers of birds! I did a hawk watch at Longneck Road
and spotted a flyby GLOSSY IBIS, by the time I got to the Jacob's Farm area
of Point Lookout State Park, it was a bit warm and bird activity dropped a
bit, but I did hear/see a SUMMER TANAGER, another BLUE-HEADED VIREO, and a
group of 5 EASTERN KINGBIRDs working the field along the hunters parking
lot lane.
